Insights Session - Leading Through an Uncertain Economy and Challenging Times

Economic uncertainties and unpredictable circumstances are omnipresent in the business world. The pandemic and its implications that we are still facing, globally, has exposed the fragility of many businesses. The pressure is on them to re-shape their strategy and restructure their organizations to deliver better, lasting results for all their stakeholders. Companies need to rise to the occasion, respond to immediate challenges, re-engage and motivate employees, while balancing family life in between. We will hear from prominent Middle East leaders on how to lead through challenging times and compete successfully in volatile markets.

Panel Discussion - The Future of Work; Forever Changed

The task of workplace transformation for the future must be decided by understanding the successes and failures of the past. Throughout 2020, a distinctive term has been crafted that is now an unavoidable part of almost every conversation, be it professional or personal – remote working. Something that was considered unthinkable before is now challenging corporations to rethink their strategies and policies. While the ability to work from home has been a godsend for working parents allowing them to keep their children and jobs safe during the pandemic, it has also exacerbated a deeply ingrained gender inequality. It also showed us that adapting employees’ skills and roles to the post-pandemic ways of working will be crucial to building operating-model resilience. We will listen to these fantastic speakers discuss how leaders can reskill and upskill the workforce to future-proof their businesses in the post-pandemic era.

Keynote Session - The Pivot Towards Equity

The best fuel for diversity is diversity itself. We will reach the point of no return when men and women are equally attached to a truly diverse workforce, family-friendly policies, fair competition, and equality in recognition of performance. More and more dual-career couples are leading the transition to a diverse workplace. Empathy lies at the heart of a productive future of work — unless business leaders remain blind to the facts. Our speaker discusses what the strategic and operational intent of business leaders must be to deliver a favorable outcome for both employees and employers, allowing flexibility, and delivering and demanding equitable treatment and opportunity.

Insights Session - Beyond Energy: How Can We Be More Sustainable?

Our energy sector today is working towards a sustainable future for all. Even though women’s roles and interests in energy have been well-documented, the energy sector still has miles to go in terms of gender balance and this could be difficult when new challenges or opportunities emerge such as sustainability. This session aims to shed light on how sustainable energy, digital transformation, and green energy can create more opportunities and benefits for women. Taking the lead in both sustainability and inclusion will help encourage women to advance in their careers and become ready for rapid changes in the energy sector.

Panel Discussion - How Can Leaders De-Stress and Re-Energize the Workforce After the Pandemic

The energy sector is often known for innovation and growth, but what about when it comes to re-energizing the workforce in a world exhausted by a pandemic? Albert Einstein said, “In the midst of every crisis lies great opportunity.” The pandemic has turned the old rules of the workplace into new ones; it increased the need for empathy, compassion, and it accelerated the need for new ideas and solutions. This has forced us to think closer inside us, about how we can re-energize ourselves and our organizations to restore and sustain our energy before the crisis. In this session, you will hear from top industry experts on what they have done to unleash the full potential of their team and what they have done to recharge themselves after the pandemic.

How To Keep the Spark On When It Matters the Most

"Energy is something inside you and has properties that make it a very powerful resource – it can be expanded, it can be renewed and you can learn to use it more efficiently,” Schwartz. An article published by Harvard Business Review discussed the importance of managing your energy to avoid burnout. When the workload increases, it forces people to put in long hours leading to burnout. This has increased tremendously after the pandemic. Schwartz, the founder of the Energy Project, describes in his article how establishing simple rituals for the four key dimensions (the body, emotions, mind, and spirit) can build energy, leading to striking results across organizations. In this session, our speaker will share their story of grit and determination and what she learned.
